MISSION STATEMENT:
“To provide a comprehensive range of quality services through its Directorates and Units in maintaining and upgrading public areas and projects carried out by the Ministry or other clients of the Department in an efficient manner and with the required return of value for money.”
The Cleansing & Maintenance Department (CAMD) was established in June 2010 and replaces the previously known Services Division within the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs.
Director General (Cleansing & Maintenance) is Architect Carmel Mifsud Borg B.A.(Arch), B.Arch (Hons), A. & C.E.
Director (Manufacturing & Services) is Mr Philip Bugeja.
Director (Cleansing) is Mr Carmelo Zammit.

The Cleansing & Maintenance Department setup is made up of the following Directorates and Units:

These Directorates and Units within the Cleansing & Maintenance Department provide the following services:
• metal and carpentry manufacturing works;
• electrical and mechanical installations and maintenance works;
• vehicle and heavy plant maintenance;
• road cleansing services and the removal of illegally dumped waste in arterial roads, urban areas and non-urban areas;
• maintenance and upgrading of public areas and projects;
• implementation of marine and storm water infrastructural works;
• the maintenance of valleys;
• architectural and civil engineering consultancy services;
• market surveillance of CE marking on lift installations and construction products;
• quality assurance services on building and engineering works;
• occupational health and safety services for the Departments and Units within MRRA;
• registration and monitoring of energy performance of buildings certificates
• drafting of new building regulations.

developing the skills of our staff, consistent with industry standards and by providing training and professional growth;
applying the latest techniques of project and data management for the purpose of providing timely and accurate responses to client inquiries and for completing projects of acceptable quality with budget and on schedule;
assisting client entities in analysing and describing their specific needs and converting them into scopes of works, construction documents and completed projects.
